Imaging Spectrographs and Monochromators

The SureSpectrum is an imaging spectrograph and scanning monochromator that features dual exit ports for maximum flexibility.

Employing proprietary reflective optics, which correct for astigmatism, the SureSpectrum imaging spectrographs have been specifically designed to provide the capability of real time simultaneous multi-source spatial analysis in a single instrument. This revolutionary multi-channel spectroscopic method utilizes optical fibers to collect and transmit spectral data from multiple sources to the input slit of the imaging spectrograph. The imaging spectrograph simultaneously disperses all of the spectral channels into their component wavelengths and images them on to a two-dimensional array detector at the exit focal plane. The individual spectral channels are distributed vertically on the detector array and the component wavelengths of each channel are displayed along the horizontal axis of the array. Low-noise, high performance CCD detectors provide the means to collect, manipulate and display the data using standard analog and digital technology. What have been conventionally called "spectral lines" now have become "spectral points," each point being the image of an individual optical fiber appearing at the spectrograph exit plane. Imaging spectroscopy is a new and exciting capability that finds widespread applications in a variety of scientific fields.

SureSpectrum imaging spectrographs provide the complete computer control of all mechanical and optical functions, using a standard RS-232C serial port, GPIB and IEEE-488 parallel ports. CCD detector can also be controlled with optional software.
